It is July 14, 2009, the six month anniversary of my cardiac arrest. I am doing great. I have been back at work since February. David and I took off work last week and enjoyed a special week together with nothing pressing on our schedule. I am so grateful for all of the thoughts, prayers and kindness expressed during the past six months. GOD has truly blessed our family over and above anything one could imagine. Since the doctors will not allow me to take any medications for at least the first year, including hormones, David is now taking karate classes for his own self defense. (Just joking) I remain amazed and overwhelmed with the people who "stood in the gap" and prayed for me during my crisis. I did not realize the number of true friends that GOD has blessed me with. I cannot put into words what you mean to me.

Praise HIS Holy Name each day with everything you think, say and do. Pause and listen to the sounds of HIS creation and for HIM to speak to you.

Your friend forever,
Alive, Well, Grateful, Blessed and Will Forever Sing HIS praises, On the Mountain Tops and in the Valleys! Everyday is a Good Day!

Blessing...

From the Beene's -
Tonight (Wednesday), the doorbell rang at our front door. I went to open it and there was Susan Herbert standing at our door with the sweetest, prettiest smile I have seen in a long time!!! She brought over a note from her and David as a way of expressing their love to us and to thank us for the blog...what a JOY to have Susan walk into our living room and hug us, talk with us - and then - David walked in as well! We had a wonderful time of fellowship with David and Susan tonight. This was an incredible reminder that our God is still a GOD of miracles - and to have one of His miracles walk into our house was such a blessing. Words cannot adequately express what this experience was to be able to visit with them in our home. Please continue to pray for Susan's recovery and that the LORD will continue to bless Susan and David's relationship...

Each day Susan is growing stronger physically and is more confident! We have an appointment to see her cardiologist next Monday for the first time since leaving Baylor Hospital on January 26th. She has begun neuro and physical therapy here at our Greenville Hospital and is doing great. She is working a couple of hours most every day at her dad's trucking company as part of her occupational therapy. Her short term memory is improving greatly. I strongly feel that if Susan thinks the coffee should be kept in a different cabinet and the can opener in another drawer, it is where it should have always been! She can paint the house PINK and PURPLE; I don't care. Just "Thank You" LORD for giving her back to me. GOD has blessed us so much and has revealed his awesome power, love and abundance. GOD has allowed me and my son to witnesses a real miracle within the walls of our own home, in our own arms and in our case, a real mom and a real soul mate! How great is GOD!? Every day is a beautiful day, no matter what the weather is like! I feel like a 7 year old boy again with no worries and the whole world ahead of me every morning when I awake and find Susan alive and well! I pray that my excitement never wains. Pray that this event will continue to give Glory, Honor and Praise to HIS GLORIOUS NAME!

In tears,

David M. Herbert

She has really enjoyedthat people that have came over and ALL the food! Thanks everyone for spending time preparing amazing meals...it really means alot because I'm not what they call a chef...at all HA HA. So thanks SO MUCH!

Thursday evening

Friends of Susan & David Herbert -
This will be my last posting of the blog since I have turned over the blog to the Herbert family! Hallelujah! Amen! Julie came over tonight and we set it up so that they could do their own posting from now on. Susan has enjoyed greatly reading all your comments in her recent miraculous journey, and hopefully, in a very short period of time, she will be able to write her own posts on here for you to keep up with her recovery. Please continue to pray for Susan, David, Jon and Julie. They are truly loving having Susan at home once again!

May God bless you for your faithfulness in praying for Susan and her family.

Sunday afternoon; 1 February 2009

It has been nearly a week since anything has been posted - Susan is home and resting well, and recovering more each day. We see either David or Julie or Jon - or Susan's mom just about every day, and there is always a smile and a huge hello wave. This afternoon, Kendra was coming back to the house and Susan's parents were just getting in the car to leave, and David and Susan were standing at the curb seeing her parents off. Susan said that she continues to feel better and is regaining strength every day.

On Wednesday last week, I had printed off all the blog entries and the comments you all had made and put it in a notebook for Susan - she told me over and over again how thankful she was for the prayers - and then called me later that night and stated emphatically that reading all the comments had helped her feelings tremendously.

I hope to be able to transfer the "ownership" of this blog to Julie sometime this week, and then Susan can begin to communicate on here on her own... What a blessing that will be!!!

Thank you again for your continued support and prayers for Susan.
